Community English Classes Offered

Global Connections offers FREE Community English Classes weekly throughout the school year.  If you are interested in improving your English-speaking skills consider attending our class.  We meet weekly on Wednesdays from 9:30-11:30AM at The Alliance Church, 1161 East Napoleon Rd., BG.

The Community English Class is taught by native English speaker teachers led by ESOL teacher Julie George (also Director of Global Connections) for free, except for an $10 textbook, which is required.  This conversational English class is open to all non-native English speakers. We integrate activities focusing on all four skills—reading, writing, speaking and listening—and provide special emphasis on conversation skills by providing guided opportunities to connect with other students in the class as well as with the teachers. Beginning class activities combine all proficiency levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced).  We then divide up into smaller classes based on proficiency level, and use the textbook for these smaller classes. All attendees are assessed by the teachers through an assessment tool and then placed into the appropriate class for their level.
