Assistant Director–Melanie Koch
|
Melanie Koch was hired as the Assistant Director for Global Connections in the spring of 2015. She graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2014 with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Throughout the years residing in Bowling Green, OH, Melanie has focused on ways to support communities, experience diversity, and develop relationships with college students.
Melanie first developed her interests in other cultures during her time within the Arts Village Learning Community on-campus. In 2010, she began learning how to build African drums and became a member of a Japanese drum ensemble. In spring of 2014, she attended a trip to Southeast Asia to experience middle-eastern cultures and participate within service communities. Through this event, her desire grew to meet internationals and develop positive and supportive relationships.
Melanie hopes to continue traveling to other countries later on in life. She is eager to spend time in Europe to further establish her own cultural roots, yet she is also fascinated by the beauty and customs of other nations. She plans one day to make another trip back to Southeast Asia, and additionally to Africa, to volunteer services and experience community outreach within empowered communities.
Welcome, Melanie!
Furthermore, Mallory has been promoted from Interim Executive Director, to Executive Director.
